Pricing & Insurance
While insurance acceptance varies from clinician to clinician, we do accept insurance from a variety of major carriers, including:
Aetna
BCBS
Cigna
United Health Care (UHC)
+ More
We do not accept Medicaid or Medicare at this time.
Self-Pay is also available for a reduced rate. Please see the clinician's individual page for the insurances they accept.
How Much Are Sessions?
How Much Is It If I Have An Insurance Plan?
If we are in network with your insurance provider, we can bill your insurer for the session(s). However, it is important to note that there are several factors that we want to make you aware of:
Deductible
If your healthcare plan has a deductible, the insurance company will require you to pay a larger amount up front until the deductible is met. We can submit an inquiry to the insurance company on your behalf to confirm whether you have a deductible before your session with us. Please note that insurance companies sometimes provide us with incorrect information. Like you, we get the runaround and get frustrated with insurance companies, but we will pass what they tell us on to you.
Co-Pays
Most insurance companies charge co-pays. We see these run from $10 to upwards of $60 typically a session. We will charge you for the co-pay at the time of your visit.
What If I Want To Self Pay For My Sessions?
We charge the following for each category per session:
Individual $130.00
Pre-Marital $150.00
Couples $150.00
Marriage $150.00
Family $150.00
Is Pre-Marital, Couples, or Marriage Therapy Covered By Insurance?
Unfortunately not. There are therapist out there that bill insurance for pre-marital, couples, and marriage counseling. However, it is illegal and unethical according to the contract we (as therapists) sign with the insurance carriers. At LifeSpring Counseling, we do not want to commit insurance fraud and therefore abide by the rules the insurance carriers place upon therapists. Therefore, we charge a flat self-pay rate of $150.00 per session for these services.
We are more than happy to explain this policy in further detail and provide legal documentation upon request. To submit a request, simply use the Contact Us page to send us a message and we will reach out upon receiving the request.
What If I Can't Afford Self-Pay?
We understand that therapy can be an expensive investment for those without insurance. Upon request, we may have some alternative options for a reduced cost. Please use the Contact Us page to send us a message, and we will contact you upon receiving your request.
Understanding Insurance vs Private Pay at LifeSpring Counseling
At LifeSpring Counseling, we value your choice regarding how you pay for care. While we do accept insurance, it’s important to understand how using insurance may affect your treatment experience.
Insurance can be a helpful resource, but it often comes with restrictions that may limit your privacy, your flexibility, and even the type of care you receive. Insurance companies are not healthcare providers, yet they can influence the length, frequency, and focus of your sessions. They can sometimes prioritize policy guidelines over your individual needs and your therapist’s professional judgment.
To bill insurance, therapists must provide a mental health diagnosis. This becomes part of your permanent medical record, which could affect future coverage decisions or eligibility for life and disability insurance. Insurance companies may also request access to portions of your treatment records to determine if services are “medically necessary.” In some cases, denials or delays in payment can occur, impacting both you and your provider.
For clients who prefer the highest level of privacy and flexibility, private pay offers an alternative. Paying directly allows you to set the pace, focus, and goals of therapy without outside interference. It also ensures that your mental health care remains fully confidential between you and your therapist.
At LifeSpring Counseling, our priority is providing you with care that best supports your well-being. Whether you choose to use insurance or private pay, we are here to walk alongside you.
What If You Don't Accept My Insurance?
If we are not in-network with your insurance company, we can provide you with a superbill. A superbill is a detailed receipt you can submit directly to your insurance provider to request reimbursement for your sessions.
Please note that reimbursement depends on your individual insurance plan, and we cannot guarantee coverage. We recommend checking with your insurance provider to understand your coverage for out-of-network services.
